Music to the ears

I’ve always preferred good sound. This is one of key reasons I can’t bear the sight (read sound) of those shaky camrips. And, when this is combined with taste is music, it becomes quite tricky. I’ve recently got Audio Technica ATH-M50x Matte Gray (Limited Edition) and the moment I put it on, I was like – Wow! These are epic. They are actually cheaper than my current existing set of earphones/headphones. In the past I’ve owned some decent earphones/headphones but there are some memorable ones.

Dew Xtreme Tour, Delhi

On 5th May 2012, we were invited to Nokia Lumia sponsored Dew Xtreme Tour at The Great India Place, Noida. Before the event there was a awesome performance by band The Aphids. Before the crowd could get a breath, it was VJ Ranvijay to steal the show. Ranvijay kickstarted the main event. There were athletes of world fame, who have individually won not one but multiple X-Games events and are big names world-over in Xtreme sports. It was tough to click the pics as the athletes were moving at high-speed, hence images are blurred at many places. Actress Gul Panag was also at venue (whose pic we will share later).

All the pictures here are untouched and directly from camera, no processing is done or whatsoever. We did our best to get you the best shots possible so please do your bit by clicking on Like/Tweet/Share/Leave a comment. Thanks to @NokiaIndia for inviting us to the venue and enjoy the event.

Light of new beginning: Nokia Lumia 800

After the February 2011 announcement that Symbian will be dropped, Nokia was heavily panned for its decision. As a Nokia lover and long time user of Symbian, I am no different. Symbian, in my opinion, is the original smartphone OS and Nokia will be abandoning it in favor of Windows Phone. Nokia market share was sliding with advent of iPhone and Android jumping in competition. Nokia was to blame for missing out on huge opportunities. Nokia was eying on keeping the price low while other manufacturers were either keeping prices dirt cheap or giving devices the premium price tag, of course with better responsive touch phones.

Microsoft on other hand had already burned it’s hand twice in mobile business. Windows Mobile steadily rose to its peak in 2007 and fell faster than Jack and Jill. Microsoft also came up with it’s own hardware too, I’ll be too happy it was named something “Kin”. Microsoft faced flak after failure of Windows Vista but it came up with Windows 7 to counter. In mobile world it has failed in both OS (Windows Phone 6) and hardware (Microsoft Kin), Microsoft only bet being in mobile business was Windows Phone 7.

Did two ailing companies make a success story?

My next phone?

Nokia N8 is doing a great job for me in all fronts of usage (occasional hiccups), apps, media and multimedia. But I must upgrade to something. Nokia 808 being the original successor of Nokia N8 is highly probable but the decision from Feb. 2011 is a big factor. I am planning to buy a new phone and buying a new smartphone is not less than research in itself. Here I am thinking out loud on which phone I will finally go for. Continue reading “My next phone?”

Nokia 808 PureView Heads-up

Nokia 808 PureViewIt can be said that Nokia N8 has been in market for well above 1 year and 6 months and with its 12 MP Carl Zeiss tessar optics and Xenon flash still ruling as the best camera in cameraphone category of mobiles. Before N8, we had N86 with 8MP camera with biggest sensor at the time and N82 with Xenon Flash. Proving its camera prowess for a decade now, Nokia has moved one step ahead by creating a 41MP sensor and has named it PureView. The first ever PureView device is Nokia 808. Does it have enough to be another decade of Nokia ruling in cameraphone category? Read on as expressed by Vesa Jutila, Head of Symbian Product Marketing at Nokia. N86: Re-introducing Imaging…

Couple of days back I got hands on beautiful N86. Yes, the 8 megapixel shooter which has the biggest camera module at the time of it’s launch. Nokia has a history of combining best in class hardware but what makes it stand apart is the Camera in it’s Camera-Phones. With first camera phone to N86, camera phones couldn’t have been better.
